Google on Oct. 13 expanded Gemini 4 Argon beyond its limited preview, making the model available worldwide to developers and businesses through paid services and to eligible Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers.
Google said developers and enterprises can use Argon through the Gemini API, AI Studio and its Gemini platform, while Google Cloud is also offering it to business customers. Pro and Ultra subscribers can access it in the Gemini app and Search’s AI Mode; access through Google’s Antigravity coding tool is limited to Ultra subscribers. The expanded release follows an initial rollout to selected cybersecurity partners, and Google says Argon is built for complex, multi-step work in software development, finance, law, cybersecurity and science.
API use starts at $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens, with Google’s introductory rates set to double after Nov. 30. Google also says its internal teams have used Argon on software engineering projects and reports increased AI-assisted code submissions and fewer code rollbacks; those results are the company’s own claims. The broader launch puts Google’s latest model in front of paying customers as it competes with AI systems from OpenAI and Anthropic.
