Agile Robots and NVIDIA unveiled the Agile ONE SN, a compact humanoid research platform, as Agile targets production of 1,000 to 2,000 units in 2027 for universities and corporate research labs.
The companies introduced the robot at NVIDIA’s GTC Berlin event on October 21. They presented it as a ready-to-use system for developing and testing robotic skills. It combines Agile’s humanoid hardware with NVIDIA’s Isaac GR00T robotics platform and Jetson Thor onboard computer.
The SN is designed to combine data collection, simulation, training and putting robotic skills into use in one workflow. This is meant to avoid requiring research teams to assemble separate tools. NVIDIA says the platform stands 1.4 metres tall.
NVIDIA says its body has 31 independent ways of moving. NVIDIA says it can carry up to three kilograms in each arm. Its equipment includes five-fingered hands with touch sensors.
It also has cameras and lidar to help it sense and interact with its surroundings. Agile says skills developed on the compact robot can later be transferred to its full-size Agile ONE. The full-size Agile ONE is intended for industrial work.
CEO Zhaopeng Chen told Reuters that production of the ONE S and ONE SN models is expected to begin by the end of 2026. Stanford University and ETH Zurich were named as potential customers, not confirmed buyers. NVIDIA says the integrated setup could reduce researchers’ preparation time from weeks to days.
A company executive told Reuters that a standard configuration could save months of integration work.
