A Russian jet-powered drone struck a platform at Dnipro’s railway station on Oct. 29, killing 15 people and injuring 14.
On Oct. 30, 11 of the wounded were still in hospital. The death toll rose on Oct. 30 when a 40-year-old man injured in the attack died in hospital, regional governor Oleksandr Hanzha reported. According to the regional administration, the victims were 10 men and five women.
The drone hit while a train from Dnipro to Zaporizhzhia was at the station. Passengers were waiting nearby. Six of those still in hospital were in serious condition, including an 11-year-old boy.
Ukrainian Railways said passengers had been urged to leave the stopped train about 10 minutes before the strike. Station and train staff were checking the carriages. Although passengers had been warned, people remained on the platform when the drone struck.
Dnipro declared Oct. 30 a day of mourning for the victims.
